The Sky Is Falling has always been a bit of an elusive album. Although the formal release date is 2007 - maybe that's more the idea of when it "should have been released" as opposed to when it really was. I think half the songs on today's version of the album were actually written between 2007 and 2010. And, I suppose it was 2020 before I actually got around to loading what I felt were final mixes for distribution. So, there are probably a huge variety of album iterations that I've shared with people over the years floating around out there.

When I started this album , I felt like I was really at the top of my game for singing, songwriting and music in general. Then, WHAM! Life happens... Good life, great life, messy-full-of-change life.

Nevertheless, it was definitely time to get serious about life.

They say that life is about the journey - not the destination. I tend to agree. So, I suppose I'm not too worried about the what and the when as much as I am about having something to look back on. And, as a close friend pointed out - I did actually release an album during the pandemic (technically-speaking).

That said, although the title is a bit Cassandra-ish - there are certainly times over the last several (if not every) years that it's felt like the sky was falling. When I began writing this album, I really though it was kind of pointing out the Cassandra-like behaviors of others that I've often poked fun at (you see, I'm a pretty laid-back guy). As it turns out, it's all really just a matter of perspective - yes, P.E.R.S.P.E.C.T.I.V.E. can really change things. As they say, there are three sides to every story - yours, mine, and the truth. The truth will set you free.

Maybe.
