2002

Genesis: After years of playing in a variety of bands, David Addison begins exploring writing and recording his own music. David occasionally collaborates with previous bandmates Gary Wingo, Noel Hernandez and Carl Borsick as he finds his own sound.

General Demo Recordings & Collaborations
Initial recordings of what will become a series of unreleased singles - Jammin' 101, Everything, Just Friends, Sunrise, I Will Believe & Sing A Song

2003

Having gained some comfort in finding his own voice, David decides that the path forward is to abandon all other projects and focusing on developing his own sound. Self-described as, "I was so tired of playing everybody else's music. I just needed to do something on my own, for myself - to express what I wanted to express. I didn't want any band drama, drugs and playing to the same old empty bars and clubs for a bar tab. I wanted to do it MY way - Addison's Way."

Founding
Addison Way was founded by David Addison.

2004

Things really started to happen in 2004. Having disconnected from other projects, David really started spending time recording what would become the album "How Gravity Works". Holding true to the idea of "doing it my own way" - David setup a studio in his apartment and wrote, recorded and produced each and every song with minimal input from other musicians. Once there was enough material available, David began looking for some new faces to bring into the project that would ensure that the newly-developed sound would be represented as intended.

Jan - Aug: How Gravity Works recording sessions
The first 8 months of the year were really focused on creating new material and getting it recorded.
Sept: The Search Begins
David begins connecting with a few trusted friends to see if they know any local musicians that might fit into the Addison Way project. Noel Hernandez joins the band and the pair begin practicing the new material together.
Oct: Great Scott!
Through a mutual friend, David is introduced to Scott Cox as a potential drummer. David and Scott become fast friends as Scott joins the band. Scott has been jamming with a few other local bands and starts looking for a few more people to fill in the lineup for Addison Way.
Nov: Warren joins the band
Scott brings Warren Tracy into the band to fill the Bass Guitar role - ultimately, this doesn't stick and Warren decides to move on.

2005

2005 really becomes the year that things start to happen for Addison Way. With the recording for HGW wrapping up and a few more members joining the group - it is now time to begin promoting and playing some live shows to drum up some attention.

Mar: Warren joins the band - again. This time he brings Leslie
After floating around a bit, Warren finds himself on an early spring day jumping out of an airplane. Along for the ride is Leslie Gaston. Warren and Leslie get to talking and Warren learns that Leslie is a skilled musician and interested in new projects. Warren introduces Leslie to the group and they both join the band - Warren on guitar and Leslie on bass and keys.
May: How Gravity Works released
After much time and effort, HGW is finally ready to release to the public.
June-Dec: Practice makes perfect and Promote! Promote! Promote!
The quintet spend massive amounts of time locked in Leslie's basement practicing each song to get the sound just right. The group begins playing live shows in the Denver area in August with excellent reviews.

2006

As 2006 begins, Addison Way is really hitting it's stride and things are going very well. The band begins to build a strong following and has another album in the works.

Jan - Apr: Heavy rotation
The first part of 2006 finds Addison Way playing frequently at some of the top locations along the Front Range of Colorado. The band works diligently to promote itself and develops merchandise to sell at shows.
May: The Sky Is Falling begins production
David begins working on the follow-up album to HGW - titled "The Sky Is Falling".
Jun - Oct: The more, the merrier
The group continues to play frequent shows to gain and maintain a following.

2007

Pull on this string and watch things unravel is the theme for 2007. With attentions focused in different areas, the band begins to break apart as each member begins to walk a different path in life.

Mar: Leslie decides to explore other avenues
Leslie decides that she wants to take time to explore her advancing career in music education and leaves the band.
Apr: Warren decides to explore other avenues
Warren decides that he needs to take more time for his career in radio production and leaves the band.

2008 - 2010

Play it again, Dave. The band goes through several iterations of members in the absence of Warren and Leslie. Introducing familiar faces from the past - but, never really gaining enough momentum to keep things alive for more than 1-2 shows.

Oct 2010: The End (for now)
The band (unknowingly) plays its last show for more than a decade at the "Big, Gay Halloween Party".

2011 - 2021

The Hiatus. Sometimes life just gets in the way. In this case, it did for a decade. But the pressure of living through a pandemic stirred-up new music.

Jul 2020: Or else it's all for nothing
All of the civil unrest and protests related to the pandemic and gender/race inequality inspires David to dust off the notebook and write "All For Nothing"
Feb 2021: Locked-down with nothing to do but play the guitar
Being quarantined for Covid-19, David begins writing and recording songs for a new album to be released in the future.

2022

Activity continues on writing new material. David, Scott and Noel begin discussing whether to play a few shows. David dusts off the studio and records a few singles.

Sept-Dec 2022: The Addison Way Renaissance
This period marks a distinctly creative period for David. The groundwork for nearly two dozen songs is laid and tracks are recorded for ‘Into The Light’, ‘As We Watch Our Heroes Die’, ‘Life Is An Echo’ and ‘God Isn’t Dead’.

2023

And… We’re back! To the future… David plans several releases in 2023. Beginning with the release of dual singles, ‘God Isn’t Dead’ and ‘Life Is An Echo’.
