When Carl was in the womb his mother sang in a choir and at church. Born in 1969 off Lake Erie, He grew up singing a-capela three days a week and enjoyed it so much he joined a youth chorale (Singing Youth of Denver) when he was fourteen.

Carl began “chipping away” at the keys (with hot wheels) at an early age of around five. By the age of fifteen he became more and more expresive with the piano. Within one year, he had pushed his mothers piano into his bedroom at the protest of his family in order to enable himself to play freely in the crowded home. He has been freely playing ever since. He dropped out from being a senior in high school (later recieving g.e.d. with certificate of excellence) to work more hours to begin buying equipment.

He was given his first electric guitar as a present from his sister on his tenth birthday. He experimented off and on but a passion for the guitar did not blossom until he was about nineteen. This is also when he began songwriting and collaborating with other musicians and groups.

By the age of twenty, Carl recorded a five song ep, had been to Nashville, Chicago and New York, to chase dreams and sounds. He had played with several groups by this time… Project Pheonix, Sons of Thunder, Deffener, Eclipse and musicians of all styles and tastes, Rock, Bluegrass, Metal, Dance, Folk. Carl has had many many hours of studio experience.

Carl began playing with Molotov in the very early ninties; a group that played literaly hundreds of shows in the Denver area. Later to be known as Taste of Madness, the group was well accepted locally. Concurrently, Carl played in Water House, a Denver-area cover band.
